"Refreshing the System Energy" by Pastor P.T. Mammen

Scripture Reference: Isaiah 40:21-31

Today we will look to the Lord for energy for a fresh start. ICC is at a specific juncture and must possess explosive new power source. Isaiah in this chapter places before us a clear picture of God’s relationship with His people.

About God: He is an awesome God who stretched out the heavens and the entire universe by His power.

About man: What a privilege to acknowledge the creator and follow His foot steps. There is a scathing indictment on man who degrades himself by making idols to worship instead of the creator who is also father, shepherd, and covenant maker. But the image of the withering grass makes clear how temporary wealth or poverty is. Whatever is permanent is His love.

About immortality: Our good deeds of kindness, generosity, helpfulness are immortal and will live in other souls, and we build our own character, which will remain with God.

There is a contrast between the changing world and the unchanging word. cf: Matt. 24:35; 1 Pet. 1:24-25. Thought of God are expressed in word and revealed in the gospel. Salvation originates and manifests with God.

About waiting: Repose and activity are two conditions for physical life.

1. Passivity invites us to receive the gift of God for doing nothing. Night will pass and morning will appear.
2. Confidence in God that He will accomplish His word.
3. Those that wait for God long for His work and expect it.
4. Patiently, knowing in His time He will reward.
5. Submissive because it is His power to grant or withhold

It is not indifference, despair or rebellious discontent.
Renew our strength, Mount up as eagles, capacity for strenuous action, and patient endurance, tenacious perseverance till the end.
