“Pleasure, Prayer and Passion!” by Dr. P.T.Mammen
Scripture Reference: Isaiah 55:1-13
Today we will focus on the new direction. We will look at the year ahead and see God working His plan for His people.
We shall actualize His design for ICC. We shall judge the status quo in the Spirit and not through human reasoning. Instead of being self absorbed in response to our own emotions we shall listen to what the Spirit says to the church. This year we need to identify the dynamism of three words; pleasure, prayer, passion.
1. The Pleasure of Union with God. God calls us to Himself through the baby in the major. God identifies with human struggles in Jesus of Nazareth. Name any tough situation we face, God says to us He is before us to prepare the way. Through faith accept God as the greatest gift we have and take pleasure in that union. He is waiting for partnership.
2. Prayer is the medium through which communion is strengthened. Turn from wickedness and seek God’s mercy in abject brokenness before God who knows us well. He invites us to draw closer to Him in our waking moments, in our working hours and in our leisure time. Spirit wants to capture us to ascend to new spiritual levels in enjoying His love.
3. Christ moved with passion wherever He went. Passion for abundant life, total passion for God experiencing the power resident in our walk with Him, passionate about being fully invested in winning souls, and passionate about the way the church adjusts to change around us. Change in the air is demographical, generational, economical, political, cultural, times and seasons with religious and philosophical challenge.
