"What Fathers Need to know" by PT Mammen
Today
we will examine what today’s father needs. The challenge of
being a young father is very painful in today’s world. The
state, legal system, cultural influences, education system and
feminism make it harder to be a good father. Look at what the
disciples did in the face of intense challenge.
1. Unwavering faith in the sufficiency of Christ to enable them. The make of heaven and earth is on your side.
2. Prayer is the first resort and God sends fresh power. Let others know that you belong to Jesus. It is a distinguished privilege, a transforming power, a perilous distinction and a high responsibility. Prayer should be offered with one heart – meaning agreement of will, thought and feeling. They clearly perceived the impending danger and directed to the only source to enable them to cope. It is not a prayer for vengeance upon the enemies but to embolden God’s servants.
3. Seek the company of other who can encourage, pray with, share ideas and be open with one another. Genuine love and a living faith abound.
4. Lean upon the solid scriptural principles and stay consistent with the message. Let us be faithful and self sacrificing to maintain the unity of heart.
