Today we will identify the power behind missions: Mark 16:9-20

Let us examine why thousands of people give of themselves to reach those around the world. Many leave loved ones and comfort zones and live in strange lands, sometimes under very difficult circumstances. What motivates these individuals!

1. It is a great privilege to be a witness for the victorious resurrection of Jesus.
Christ’s resurrection shakes the world. This word evokes faith in the hearers causing those who believe to experience a new force life. This validates the
witness.

2. Salvation of souls is the primary motive. The other option is painful. Since Christ came to seek and to save sinners and brought them to repentance we are commissioned to reach the whole world with the message of Christ’s salvation and grace.

3. Miracles are to be experienced. These are for today more than ever. The supernatural interventions of God elevated the gospel message to a higher realm.

4. The Lord confirms His word with signs and wonders.  This is  evidence that the Lord is behind all that occur around us.

5. The gospel imperative: The Cross, The Cleansing, The crown.
